Demolition

I am in awe with how much grace and precision the driver of this machine tore down most of the building in just a few hours.

We spent over a year planning and deciding and organizing but it’s finally time. We are building a home just for us.
It feels so strange to start a building with a demolition, but our plot comes with a barn that we have to tear down because a conversion wasn’t possible.
Before the demolition crew arrives next week to remove the old barn, we spent this morning taking down and storing the rain gutters which we can hopefully repurpose.

We got lucky to see the lights dancing above us on our nighttime snowmobile ride. The camera catches the lights in a very different way to what your eyes see. It’s a surreal and spectacular view nonetheless. This was the last time we saw them before the weather changed. After that the sky remained covered in thick white clouds and constant snow at night.

After our sleigh ride drawn by reindeer we got to go mushing. Our dogs were the best boys and girl, I spent most of the time on the breaks as we were not allowed to overtake the lead sled and had to maintain some distance.

I had a lot of fun. The combination of speed, scenery, and weather made this one of the highlights of this vacation.

We saw the aurora dancing in the night sky above our bed

-20° C never felt so nice.

Our IKEA Ingatorp table top hasn’t aged well in ten years, so it was time for a replacement.
Ash from a local forestry. Cut, planed, glued, sanded, routed, and finished at Das Habitat Augsburg. Slightly bigger dimensions than the original to make more room for boardgames.

Well worth the time.
Very tired, but on our way home from the airport.
The last two weeks passed by at an incredible pace and it will take way more time to let it sink in that we went to India and made it back.
